Independence Day is observed annually on 14th of August, it is a national holiday in Pakistan, commemorating the day when Pakistan achieved independence and was declared a sovereign nation, following the end of the British Raj in 1947.
Every year on 14th of August, Pakistan gets decked
up in all its glory to celebrate its Independence Day with incredible pomp and
show. Every Pakistani’s heart throbs with a sentiment of patriotism and unity;
and remembering the freedom fighters and great leaders like Quaid-e-Azam who
made it possible for the Indian Muslims to live peacefully and independently in
a separate motherland, today known as Pakistan.
The day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and passion by
the students in every School of HOPE – An
Educational NGO in Pakistan.
Which includes HOPE High School Zia Colony (Karachi), HOPE High School
(Thatta), HOPE High School (Muzaffarabad), HOPE Schools (AJK and Muzafargarh),
also at the Home Schools.
The Students performed short skits on poetry, storytelling.
Furthermore, dance performances, role model acting etc. were also conducted. The teachers and principals gave motivational
speeches. There was face painting. The schools were decorated with wonderful
flag buntings, streamers and balloons of white/green color. The students were the
most excited among all, for this day, as they are usually seen wearing new
white and green clothes and badges on this occasion and take part in the
decoration of their homes and schools with Pakistani flags and green buntings
etc.
HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan, makes it a point to keep the
celebration of Pakistan’s Independence day by giving a chance to those
underprivileged children studying at HOPE Formal and Informal Schools to
celebrate this day with great enthusiasm. The children are encouraged to take part
in singing national songs and perform whatever their hearts content.
Under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla – A Child
Specialist in Karachi, HOPE still continues its mission in
philanthropic work and keeps the importance of children education in mind, as
they are the future of the nation and will be future leaders one day.
