HOPE – an NGO in Pakistan has always been striving for the betterment of society. From education and health to research projects, HOPE is always up to something that can contribute in the wellbeing of society. However, there are many entities that have been helping HOPE with its mission. One of them is Government of Japan which had funded HOPE to establish a Formal School in Karachi and later for the expansion of school.
Recently, a consultant on child protection from Japan, Michiko Ono, visited Pakistan for her research on migrants. Since HOPE – a Health NGO in Pakistan, is in liaison with the Embassy of Japan, Team HOPE, on the instructions of Dr Mubina Agboatwalla – a child specialist in Karachi and chairperson of HOPE, accompanied Ms Michiko to the areas she wanted to visit for her study.
She visited Sohrab Goth and Bengali Para. The residents of Sohrab Goth are mainly Afghani migrants, whereas, Bengali para has Bengali migrants. She did in-depth interviews of the families residing in these areas with the help of Team HOPE.
