DEMONSTRATIONOF P&GWATER PURIFIERS BY HOPE TEAMIN MUZAFFARGARH

The World Health Organization considers universal access to clean water a basic human right, and an essential step towards improving living standards worldwide. Water deprived communities are generally economically poor as well, their residents are trapped in an ongoing cycle of poverty. Keeping this in mind, HOPE a Health NGO in Pakistan in collaboration with Procter & Gamble Pakistan is making clean water accessible by distributing P&G Purifier of Water to the underprivileged communities. P&G Purifier of Water is used for preparing safe drinking water. One single sachet purifies up to 10 liters of brackish water. Compared with other products available in the market, P&G Purifier of water leaves no salty or sour after-taste.

Access to tap water is very low in Muzaffargarh and quality of drinking water remains substandard as the major sources are hand pumps and turbines supplying contaminated or brackish water to local populations.

Majority of the population in Muzaffargarh is exposed to hazards of drinking unsafe and polluted water from both surface and ground water sources. Contaminated water is the root cause of many diseases including diarrhea, typhoid, intestinal worms and hepatitis. Under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in Karachi, HOPE has been working relentlessly to improve the lives of the people in Muzaffargarh by creating awareness among them, about the benefits of safe drinking water.

HOPE team demonstrated the process of cleaning water using P&G Purifiers of Water in Muzaffargarh. Several people were present during the orientation where they learnt the importance of drinking clean water and how to prepare it by themselves at home. Each participant was provided a purifying kit that consists of a cooler, bucket, muslin cloth, spatula and 120 sachets of P&G Purifier of Water. The aim of this activity was to benefit the local community while making clean water accessible hence reducing the morbidities especially among children. This will also provide them opportunity to improve standards of living while improving health status.HOPE- An NGO in Pakistan provides back-up support in the form of training, IEC material, social marketing and advocacy of P&G Purifier to the socially deprived local population.

HOPE SUPPORTS DAILY WAGERS DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

A large size of population in Pakistan is deprived of the basic necessities of life. However, there is a silver lining on the darkening sky in the form of NGO’s like HOPE. HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan has been carrying out philanthropic activities since its inception, so that even the less privileged ones can obtain the basic necessities of life.

Along with the daily rise in COVID-19 cases, across the globe, and the Chief Minister of Pakistan imposing a complete lockdown in the county as a precautionary measure against the spread of more coronavirus cases. People have been forced to remain indoors during the pandemic. However, the laborers, especially the daily wagers, seem to have gotten the raw end of the deal. Owing to the on-going lock-down in the country; the major difficulty being faced here is by the lower class of our country, since they live hand to mouth and depend upon daily wages, these people need to work daily to provide essential support for their families.

Job opportunities for daily wagers has come to a halt; and neither they have any resources or savings to sustain on during this lockdown.   in order to cater to this problem of theirs, HOPE – A Health NGO in Pakistan, is providing ration bags to the families of daily wagers in order to keep their kitchen running until the pandemic situation restores to normal again.

HOPE will be providing ration for a month to each family depending upon how long the situation prevails. The ration bags we provide, consist of various items such as milk powder, flour, cooking oil, sugar, pulses, rice and tea leaf, which sums up to the basic needs required in any household.

Vans are filled with ration bags and sent to different slum areas of Karachi and rural areas of Sindh for the purpose of distribution among needy daily wagers.  Our target is to provide Ration bags for morethan 1000 families, in locations such as Zia colony, Rehri Goth, Bilal Colony, Mujahid colony, Manzoor, Dhabbeyjee, Bhittiabad, Sajawal, Thatta, Badin etc.

Under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla- A Child Specialist in Karachi, HOPE strives towards achieving greater horizons and drags people out of their misery and sufferings by carrying out such philanthropic activities.

DARAZ BROUGHT JOY TO THE UNDERPRIVILAGED COMMUNITIES OF THE SOCIETY

HOPE- an NGO in Pakistan, works for the betterment of the society and has always been striving to bring quality education and healthcare to thousands of poverty-stricken Pakistanis, helping them lead a better life. With its mission to spread hope and happiness especially to those down trodden and underprivileged women and children.

Philanthropy is the love of humanity; to develop and enhance human values by giving and volunteering to benefit others. Philanthropy provides long-term benefits through revitalizing communities and public health impacting the present and the future. It goes a long way to solve many social problems that governments may not be able to reach. Private organizations who have gained wealth, want to give back to society.

Recently a very generous donation was made by Daraz Pakistan to HOPE an Educational NGO inPakistan, by donating miscellaneous items such as toys, clothes, shoes, electronics, gadgets etc. as donations for the underprivileged people of the communities. Daraz is an online store that provides branded products for men and women across clothing, footwear, apparel, jewelry and accessories across Pakistan.

Large boxes consisting of various types of toys, clothes, shoes, electronics, gadgets and other accessories were handed over to HOPE for distribution among the needy people of the communities, and children whose parents are not able to afford for them toys, clothes and shoes. This donation made things a lot easier for the underprivileged people who are not able to achieve such items on normal basis, as they are already busy struggling to fulfil the daily ration needs and provide food on the table for their children and families.

Gifts bring pleasure to the receiver, especially the parents from underserved areas were over joyed as their children received toys, because such children are usually deprived of toys and clothes as the low income of the bread-winner of the family barely suffices basic needs. These toys, clothes and shoes brought beautiful smiles on the faces of children, that cannot be explained through words.

Under the leadership of Dr.Mubina Agboatwalla-A Child Specialist in Karachi, HOPE aims to not only reach out, but to completely eliminate poverty, illiteracy, and hunger. HOPE welcomes individuals and organizations like Daraz who want to play their role in giving back to the society and serving as an idol for other organizations to follow in their footsteps.
