Kashmir is known for its simplicity and refined beauties but
unfortunately the people living there are suffering from insufficiency of daily
life necessities. Kashmir is a land of dreams but unfortunately, it has no
access to health and educational facilities; underdeveloped areas and a great
illiteracy rate. Being a mountainous area the children face difficulties and
hardships in reaching their schools. On
the other hand, if we talk about girl’s education families do not allow them to
go out for receiving education. For this purpose, HOPE - An Educational NGO
initiated a way and established a network of home schools across Kashmir. These
schools are more beneficial and cost effective for poor and needy people. As
the weather is so unpredictable rain and snow falls are a routine.
HOPE conducts visits every year in Kashmir along with some
employees of HOPE to check the proper functioning of schools. On day one, HOPE
team visited schools located in Thotha, Garhi dupatta. An annual function was
organized by HOPE schools students where they performed tableau's on kashmiri culture and national songs.
HOPE-An NGO in Pakistan, distributed clothes, gift packs
including school bags, pencil pouches, stationary items and sweaters among the
children. Shawls were given to teachers. Top achievers in schools were given ‘Pens’
as a token of appreciation for their hard work as well as motivating other
students. The chairperson Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla delivered a motivational
speech for teachers and students, who presented her a gift in her honor. Food items such as biryani, juices and sweets
were also distributed among all children. All children were very happy with the
visit of HOPE team and these activities brought happiness on their faces. It
was a day filled with joy and pleasure.
Under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla- A
Child Specialist in Karachi, HOPE aims to provide quality
education to the children of underprivileged communities and will continue to
work towards their betterment.
