HOPE’s Development towards Women Empowerment

If you empower a woman with correct training, education and care, you are developing the future. But unfortunately we live in a society where women are treated inferior to men. There are also cultural norms barriers which don’t allow women to move forward for their own selves. As nobody understands the need and value of women’s education that how important it is. Educating a woman means you are educating your entire generation. When you educate a woman, society becomes stronger and prosperous. HOPE – an Education NGO in Pakistan has established formal and informal schools to educate individuals a quality education.

After establishment of schools, HOPE took step for women. HOPE - an NGO in Pakistan established a Sewing Center with the collaboration of P&G to help them grow their skills. Sewing, cutting are the basics which every woman must know. It teaches them how to cut, sew, embroidery. It will help them to stitch clothes of different styles with different types of embroideries. With this skill set women can earn themselves by sitting at their homes, they can teach other girls sewing and cutting. It will be beneficial for their own self as well that they don’t need to wait for other people to stitch their clothes. Furthermore by gaining these skills they will be able to start and run their own work of clothes shop and can earn competently.

Sewing center is divided in three levels of Sewing / Cutting / Embroidery. Women are taught all these skills to make them able to work for their own self and support their families. These centers are located in Karachi - Manzoor Colony, Bilal Colony, Zia Colony, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, Muzaffargarh and Muzaffarabad (AJK).

Under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in Karachi, HOPE is continuously working for the rights of women, to make them able to stand on their own feet without being dependent on anyone in the society.
