A COUPLE BROUGHT JOY TO THE STUDENTS OF HOPE SCHOOL THATTA

Philanthropy is the love of humanity; to develop and enhance human values by giving and volunteering to benefit others. Philanthropy provides long-term benefits through education, revitalizing communities and public health impacting the present and the future. It goes a long way to solve many social problems that governments may not be able to reach. Private individuals who have gained wealth want to give back to society and help others get a firm foundation for improving their lives. Mr. and Mrs. Lateef, one such couple with a noble heart, found out about the efforts HOPE-An NGO in Pakistan has been making to improve lives of the less fortunate population specially children, which impressed them to move forward and make their contribution.

The couple wanted to bring joy among the innocent children with their act of kindness. The funds donated by the couple were utilized as they expected for serving food among the underprivileged students of HOPE School Thatta. HOPE team members served the students Chicken biryani, and fruit juice for lunch. The students were grateful with joy for such a yummy treat. Their unadulterated joy was reflected in their eyes.

Besides biryani and juice feast, wonderful toys were also gifted to the most deserving underprivileged students less than 9 years of age. Had it not been for HOPE-An Educational NGO in Pakistan and the couple’s philanthropic spirit, just like education, these toys would have been completely out of reach for these kids. The happiness after receiving the toys was clearly apparent from the children’s beaming faces.

HOPE gained trust of local communities in rural areas like Thatta because of its tireless efforts over the years in providing them education and health facilities to fill in this gap. This is the reason parents from local community send their children to HOPE school to gain education without any hesitation. These students are mainly the children of farmers and laborers, whose families would have otherwise been unable to afford education and the accompanying costs of provisions (such as stationery, books, school bags, and uniforms) all of which are given by HOPE free of cost. Many children who study in this school are orphans. HOPE School Thatta initially provided education for the underprivileged students till grade V. Later on, in 2006 a new building was constructed with the help of funds donated by different philanthropists. The school provides high quality education till high school.

Under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla-A Child Specialist in Karachi, HOPE aims to not only reach out, but to completely eliminate poverty, illiteracy, and hunger. HOPE welcomes individuals and organizations who want to play their role in helping HOPE to achieve its target.
