HOPE's Training Program at Sanghar District

Sanghar, one of the largest districts located in the middle of Singh province has been an important administrative unit that played a vital role in the economy, trade and history of Sindh. Simultaneously, it also has an increased need for health related awareness and education. HOPE, a health NGO in Pakistan has filled this legitimate need by promoting health education and awareness under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla- child specialist in Karachi.
HOPE, an educational NGO in Pakistan is one of the key training implementation partners of Global Health’s flagship Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program (MCHIP). The project aims to increase access to maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) services for mothers and children in Sindh Province by: 
  • Building the capacity of health workers to deliver high-quality family planning and MNCH services
  • Improving the quality and coverage of those health services; and 
  • Strengthening public-private partnerships.
Likewise, 6 days training program was carry out for skilled birth attendants on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and new born care. The training was held from 28th December 2015 till 2nd January 2016 at Dr Fakir Hussain Hall SIMS Shahdadpur conducted by JHPEIGO team and organized by HOPE, a health NGO in Pakistan.

The purpose of this training is to create awareness during pregnancy to reduce the maternal as well as the neonatal mortality rate. For this training, 12 Participants from SIMS and 3 from Al Haj Suleman, Tando Adam Hospital participated. Topics such as birth preparedness, rapid initial assessment, normal labor and child birth, prevention & management of pre and post delivery complications and infection control were discussed.
