Millions have been affected
by monsoon flooding across Pakistan since the past few weeks. The country has
faced extensive damages to homes, roads, bridges, and power stations with the
Sindh and Punjab provinces being hit the hardest. Many rural areas of
Baluchistan, Sindh and northern areas have been badly affected by the flood.
Homes, roads, shops etc. have been destroyed.
An infinite number of
families, women and children are left with nothing but hope, and in dire need
of cooked food, dry ration, clean drinking water, tents, medical assistance
etc.
However, there is a silver
lining on the darkening sky in the form of NGO’s like HOPE. HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan has been doing
philanthropic activities since the beginning of the monsoon season, so that
even the less privileged ones can easily make it through during these difficult
times.
The team members of HOPE – A Health NGO in Pakistan, have been distributing ration to the needy
families and now they are also distributing biryani packets, drinking water and
Pur water purifier sachet. So far, the team has covered the distribution in
urban slums as well as outskirts of Karachi and interior Sindh. These areas
include, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin and Ghaggar.
Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in
Karachi assures that HOPE will continue facilitating the people
in distress who have been effected by the monsoon floods and provide them with cooked
food, drinking water, ration and other basic necessities of life.
