ANNUAL IFTAR AND EID CLOTHES DISTRIBUTION AT BHITTAIABAD

Working for the betterment of society has always been my passion. The blessed month of Ramadan is one of the busiest time every year for HOPE - A Health NGO in Pakistan. Just like every year this year also HOPE organized multiple iftaars, one of which was the annual Bhittaiabad iftaar held on Monday 25th of April 2022, which was during the last week of ramzan for the students of HOPE’s informal schools.

These students come from Sachal Goth, Bhittiabad and Mujahid Colony. The event was alive with keenness from both excited students and busy staff member of HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan. Teachers attempted to calm the happy children long enough to seat them. As the time for iftaar approached, the socialization muted down as the plates of a date, pattie, samosa, chicken cutlet, banana, spring roll, and brownie were distributed, accompanied by sharbat and water.

As the students and staff members finished their iftaari, the socialization and laughter rapidly grew again as they resumed their delighted chatter. The excitement grew even more when Eid gifts and clothes were being distributed among the students, as the children lined up in anticipation for their Eid gifts. Each child was gifted a brightly colored, festive traditional outfit, something their families would never have been able to afford. Each child received an outfit of their exact size, which was individually selected by HOPE staff under the encouragement of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla -  A Child Specialist in Karachi.  Many also received food rations especially the ones in dire need.

The overjoyed were overwhelmed on receiving their gifts and were joyously showing each other their new outfits and posing for pictures with their gifts. Teachers once again had to make an extra effort to calm the students and seat them this time for dinner.

By the end of the event the students were tired but delighted, the young children left with their classmates and teachers on buses late at night. All the time and effort is worth it though, just to see the blissful smiles on the children’s faces.

ROBIN HOOD ARMY CONTINUES ITS PARTNERSHIP WITH HOPE THIS YEAR, DURING THE MONTH OF RAMADAN TO FEED THE HUNGRY

HOPE has been relentlessly feeding hundreds of impoverished people during the holy month of Ramadan as part of its Ramadan campaign for the past 12+ years. This year, along with the collaboration with Robin Hood Army Pakistan, HOPE was able to include variety of food items in the menu to serve thousands of people who are socially deprived.  RHA Pakistan who manages to provide food for the lesser fortunate is a group of volunteers who are working to get surplus food from restaurants and the community to feed the underserved.

During Ramadan, HOPE team used to collect the food provided by RHA Pakistan daily or several times a week, bring it to the impoverished areas in scorching heat and distribute among the underserved communities. The food was served to the needy individuals in Bhitaiabad, Rehri Goth, Sachal Goth, Ghaggar, Link Road, Gadap, Gharo, Dhabeji, Zia Colony, Bilal Colony, Qayyumabad, Manzoor Colony, Mujahid Colony, Shanti Nagar, Sher Pao Nagar, Patel Para, Thatta, Sujawal etc.

HOPE - A Health NGO in Pakistan, who mainly works to ease the hardships of the less fortunate ones, focuses on the poor women and children while distributing food or other goodies. Women, children and patients or handicapped individuals are usually deprived of the opportunities as they cannot go out and access food distributors in the presence of a large crowd. As a solution to this issue Robin Hood Army Pakistan along with HOPE has reached out to even a larger number of downtrodden communities during this Ramadan. Under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in Karachi,HOPE gave them an opportunity to enjoy the delicious food that they could only dream of.

HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan received more than 1000 food boxes along with juice boxes during the holy month from Robin Hood Army Pakistan, a zero-funds organization. Acts like this only strengthen our will to keep on going.  Donations from individuals and organizations like Robin Hood Army Pakistan made it possible for us to help in our aim to alleviate miseries of the poor and needy in various slums of Karachi and rural areas of Sindh. It has helped our cause immensely to feed a large number of poor individuals during Ramadan.
