HOPE ZIA SCHOOL STUDENTS VISIT AN AMUSEMENT PARK

HOPE- an Educational NGO inPakistan works for the betterment of the society by providing high quality education and health care services for the underprivileged and underserved aiming mainly towards women and children in the rural areas who are deprived of the basic necessities of life. HOPE believes in educating children and providing them a pathway in building a brighter future for themselves.

HOPE has a number of formal and home schools throughout the country, through which an increasing number of students gain education under the supervision of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla – achild specialist in Karachi. But alongside education, HOPE also takes their students on fieldtrips which is necessary for the motivation of the students. One such incident is of Chunky Monkey, an amusement park where 30 students from HOPE Zia School, were taken on a fieldtrip where they enjoyed themselves to the fullest. The students were accompanied by 2 teachers from the school along with 2 representatives from HOPE.

Chunky Monkey is one of the largest amusement park situated in Karachi with a unique idea of attracting kids and families who are searching for a place that is full of excitement. The rides are very safe and designed in a way that is very secure for the kids. The park is well maintained and very neat & clean. There are a number of different activities and rides such as the pirate ship, the wheels on the bus ride, roller coaster ride, the anti-plunger behaved more like an open, rotating elevator to nowhere. It ascended and descended at such a slow speed that it ought to be part of the park's geriatric section. And the basement which is made into an arcade, not forgetting the dodging cars and haunted house which were very thrilling.

The whole trip was sponsored by Target Inc. Pakistan, a direct affiliate of a major retailing chain store in the US which enjoys a very exclusive and dedicated clientele. The trip concluded by the distribution of lunch boxes consisting of delicious snacks. Target Inc. Pakistan, awarded a certificate to HOPE, as a token of appreciation for the ongoing commitment and support towards the welfare of children and youth. HOPE-AnNGO in Pakistan looks forward in collaborating with corporations such as Target Inc. Pakistan, towards improving the educational facilities for the underprivileged children in Pakistan.

HOPE Representatives Visit Muzaffargarh School and Vocational Center

HOPE Muzaffargarh School is located in Baseera. The city has experienced some of the most extreme weathers in Pakistan. The population of Muzaffargarh is around 4.322 million people. Vegetables are grown in abundance in this area, which include onions, carrots, cauliflower, peas, okra, turnips, tomatoes, potatoes, garlic and chilies etc. Muzaffargarh is located at almost the exact geographical center of Pakistan; the city features an arid climate with very hot summers and mild winters. The closest major city is Multan which is at a distance of 40kms.

HOPE-an NGO in Pakistan, has been successfully operating a school as well as a vocational center in Muzaffargarh which is located at Chawk Godhar a little further away from the main town of Muzaffargarh. HOPE team visited Muzaffargarh on 2^nd February 2020, along with the Chair person Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla-a child specialist in Karachi. HOPE Muzaffargarh school is basically a middle school.

On the first day of the visit, HOPE team monitored the overall performance of the children regarding class participation, confidence, physical health and their ability to comprehend the subject matter. As the day commenced, a sports day was organized, where students were very excited to show the chairperson all that they’ve been practicing for. The sports day activities included lemon race, relay race, tug of war, aerobics and cricket.    

    

HOPE- an Educational NGO in Pakistan supports not only academics, but also extracurricular activities and is a staunch believer in empowering children in every field of life be it educational, sports or art. HOPE contributes to the children’s betterment by organizing activities and events which unleash their inner creative minds and skills.

At the end of day one visit at HOPE Muzaffargarh School, the team distributed suits & sandals to the teachers. Toys to the children and school bags, pencil boxes and clothes to all the students. A token of appreciation, was presented to all those who won the sports day contests and proved to be active participants. Finally snacks such as samosa’s and juices were distributed among the students.

P&G - HOPE Collaborate for #WeSeeEqual Program

Gender equality – which becomes reality when all genders are treated fairly and allowed equal opportunities. In our Pakistani society where a male child is regarded as more valuable to the family, girls are often denied the right of life, denied the right to name and nationality. Gender discrimination is caused by the sense that certain occupations are a man’s job or a woman’s job. If we eliminate gender discrimination from Pakistan, we can enable women to contribute a lot in developing nation. HOPE- An NGO in Pakistan works for the betterment of the society regardless of their gender, color, race etc.

HOPE - An NGO in Pakistan along with the collaboration of P&G, its long term partner, celebrated #WeSeeEqual program on 4^th March 2020. The aim of this program is to empower women for their economic growth. For this purpose HOPE established vocational training centers and also provision of secondary education to women and girls in semi urban and rural areas, which is expected to benefit an estimated 10,000 plus girls over the next 3 years.

There was a very informative panel discussion among Mr. Sami Ahmed, Vice President, P&G Pakistan, Senator (r) Javed Jabbar, Former Federal Minister, A Representative from UN Women Pakistan & Ms Samina Baig, UNDP National Goodwill Ambassador. The discussion focused on gender equality in Pakistan and how far we have come forward from the time when women had no rights and how women are now contributing towards the nation and economic development.

On this occasion a speech was delivered by Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A child specialist in Karachi, in which she stated that with the setup of these vocational and educational centers, many women and girls in under privileged areas will get the chance to have a better future. HOPE- strives to provide better education to all specially girls as we have 80 % strength of girls who are being educated at our schools.

P&G is determined towards advancing their gender equality mission in the country along with HOPE. As speaking on the occasion Sami Ahmed, Vice President P&G said that this mission of HOPE along with P&G and UN Women is another step forward towards the fulfillment of our aspiration to build a world free of gender biasness, and a world with equal representation and equal voice for both genders, in work places in communities and in our country.

The event concluded with a high tea for all guests and a group photo in which all Partners of “#WeSeeEqual” were called up forward. All in all it was an outstanding and informative event which will lead to the implementation of #WeSeeEqual program.
