Sharing happiness with the people of Kashmir - Day 3

Kashmir is known for its inspiring waterfalls, the tranquility of smooth lakes, magnificent flowering meadows and dazzling weather. However, Kashmir is a mountainous area which leads towards many difficulties in health and education. Health and education are the basic needs for any society to grow.

HOPE-An educational NGO in Pakistan, always works for the betterment of deprived communities. Kashmir is a rural area, with a high rate of poverty, due to which people face several hardships. HOPE has established formal and informal schools across the mountainous regions of Kashmir, inorder to help the children receive quality education. These schools are set up in their neighborhoods so that the children do not need to travel far from their homes in the cold and harsh weather.

On day three, HOPE team visited the two goths: Parhor and Dakhan karbani located in district Hattianbala. Students welcomed Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla and team wholeheartedly where an annual function was also organized by students and teachers. Students presented their Kashmiri culture on Kashmiri songs and performed on national songs as well.

HOPE-an NGO in Pakistan, distributed warm clothing and all other gifts that were brought for the students and teachers of the school. Food items were also distributed such as pastries, rolls, juices and other snacks. It was a big treat for everyone and  turned out to be a joyous occasion for all.

HOPE targets the needy and poor people and helps them in making their living standards better. HOPE has established schools in the areas where not a single school was present before and provides least to free of cost education to the children who can’t afford quality education due to their family’s financial problems. Books, uniform and stationery are also provided by HOPE schools to the needy ones.

Under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in Karachi, HOPE will continue its efforts for the betterment of needy societies to help them grow steadily.

HEALTHCARE FACILITIES AT THATTA DISTRICT

HOPE has been active in Pakistan since 1997, working in the health sector of Pakistan. The organization is spearheaded by the dynamic leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla- a child specialist in Karachi and continuously strives to improve the health disparity of the deprived community in the country.

Providing world class health care facility is an obligation on HOPE. Having said that, it has three main hospitals, two of which are in Karachi and one in Thatta.

Thatta has a very successful HOPE Hospital which has been functioning since 2006. HOPE’s Thatta Hospital has become an important landmark in the city’s landscape as a provider of much-needed health care, so not just for the residents of Thatta but also for the surrounding regions.  Specifically in the maternity, mother and child care sector. The need for qualified personnel, space and equipment is always on the increase.

At the Hospitals of HOPE a Health NGO in Pakistan, a number of medical and surgical facilities and services are provided, some of which are as follows: Labor rooms, Maternity services, X-Ray, Blood Bank, Laboratory, Gynecologist Surgeries etc.

Recently there was a delivery case at HOPE Hospital Thatta where the patient was brought to the hospital in a very critical condition, the mother was already suffering from hepatitis C, hepatitis C is a disease that causes inflammation and infection of the liver. This condition develops after being infected with the hepatitis C virus (HCV). The mother was very weak and did not have the strength to deliver the child. Doctors had no option but to perform a C section, in which the Lower Segment Cesarean Section (LSCS) surgery was performed.  The Doctors at HOPE Thatta Hospital handled the case very well. Both mother and child were out of danger and the operation was successful.

Having access to a charitable hospital in such rural areas is a privilege for such people who lose hope despite being taken care of Dai’s and midwifes. Hence, in order to handle such complicated delivery cases HOPE Hospital Thatta provides qualified and experienced doctors 24/7 along with a well trained paramedic staff, so that a patient’s emergency case is catered in the best way possible anytime.

HOPE-an NGO in Pakistan continues its work to improve the living standards of the poor communities by fulfilling their basic rights of healthcare. The acknowledgement and appreciation of our work energizes the team with motivation to put in even greater effort in doing so. HOPE team strives to achieve a greater success rate in the health care sector by the expansion of HOPE hospitals, which are fully equipped with all necessary medical facilities.
