Providing quality health care
facility to the underserved population is an obligation of HOPE-An NGO in Pakistan. Primary health care
is as important as secondary health care. HOPE has established 4 Mother and
Child Health Centers located in various slums of Karachi. These health centers
provide outpatient facilities as well as preventive and curative healthcare to
mothers and children.
Bilal Colony has an estimated population
of around 300,000 people with some private clinics established by the
government. Due to mismanagement and corruption in the government departments,
these clinics have not been running successfully and that is where HOPE plays a
vital role in rendering its services wherever needed, be it Bilal Colony or any
other underserved area.
Two years ago, HOPE-A Health NGO in Pakistan established a
Mother and Child Health Center in Bilal Colony. The MCH Centre in Bilal Colony
is fully supported by the Subzwari Family and is a prototype of a family-run
philanthropic venture. A qualified doctor runs the center supported by
paramedical staff. Medicines are provided free of cost. Ultrasound facility is
also available which is performed under the supervision of a qualified doctor.
On the 16th of March, HOPE Bilal Colony
MCH Center celebrated its 2nd anniversary, thanks to the generous
support of Sabzwari family who always stands with HOPE to ease the hardships of
the underprivileged communities. The MCH Center was decorated with colorful
ribbons and balloons. A delicious birthday cake was cut to celebrate the
occasion. Snacks and beverages were also served to the children and patients
who were present at the MCHC during the time of celebration.
HOPE Mother and Child Health Center
in Bilal Colony, is one of the very successful maternal and child health
centers, which treats thousands of patients annually. This impoverished town in
Korangi industrial area takes privilege in benefitting from HOPE Bilal Colony
Maternal and Child Health. Women here are highly satisfied with the health
services provided free of cost. Happy with the success of Bilal Colony MCH Center,
HOPE has been able to open another Mother and Child Health Center in Qayyumabad
by the help and support of Subzwari family.
HOPE, under the guidance of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla-A Child Specialist
in Karachi, has been collaborating with national and international
organizations to provide quality health facilities in every nook and corner of
Pakistan. The funds donated by these organizations have helped immensely in
establishing hospitals in Karachi, Thatta, Sujawal and Interior Sindh. HOPE is
playing a vital role in developing a healthy society, where women and children
have equal opportunities to access health care.
