HOPE - an educational NGO in Pakistan,
strives to eradicate illiteracy in Pakistan. HOPE diligently tries to provide
education to all, especially the underprivileged masses. Thus most of HOPE’s
programs are focused primarily on the rural and urban slum areas of Pakistan.
HOPE extensively works to provide quality education, free of cost to the
underprivileged. Under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla- child
specialist in Karachi, HOPE has broaden its reach towards the masses lining in
squalor, mainly focusing on girl’s education.
The Japanese embassy and
HOPE share a close bond since many years, striving hard to eradicate illiteracy
and to maintain the education system and additional extracurricular activities
for the students of HOPE. Recently the Japanese consulate held a meeting
regarding the Japan Fest which HOPE takes part in every year. Students of HOPE
enjoy their time discovering new information about the Japanese culture which
is truly intriguing.
Japan has a fascinating and
multifaceted culture; on one hand it is steeped in the deepest of traditions
dating back thousands of years; on the other it is a society in a continual
state of rapid flux, with continually shifting fads and fashions and
technological development that constantly pushes back the boundaries of the
possible.
Japan Fest is an event that
aims to enlighten people with the Japanese culture. Also, to provide a platform
to those who want to showcase their talent and interest in regards to Japan. It
is a fun filled event that strives to be better each year.
The Following points were
discussed during the meeting: Cosplay Contest, Rakugo performance, dance group,
Karate performance, Judo Performance, Booth (calligraphy & photo) and
lastly concert.
The meeting was headed by
Toshikakz Isomura – Counsel General and Atsushi Murata Counsel. HOPE
representative attended the meeting where they were warmly welcomed and briefed
upon the related topics.
HOPE- an educational NGO,
has always been supporting activities which bring about the best of its
students. Such activities enhance the skills of the students and they feel
confident about what they do. This in turn plays an important role in
increasing the confidence level of the students and they work hard to hone
their skills to compete in this ever evolving world.
