No matter how small or large an assistance is extended to HOPE, an educational {and health } NGO in Pakistan – it is sincerely appreciated – and individuals or group recipients of such help are deeply indebted and openly express their gratitude to such, often life altering, assistance.
MGYW – or Merit Grants for Young Women is an organization that concentrates on providing worthy young girls with quality education with a goal to secure a better future for them and their future generations.
MGYW’s efforts are indeed very commendable and their collaboration with HOPE in this regard is with HOPE’s Zia Colony School. MGYW selects 20 worthy girl students whose parents have inappropriate financial means for the girls’ schooling – and literally ‘owns’ their schooling – totally shifting the burden from their parents’ shoulders on to MGYW’s entirely.
What MGYW does is provide them with school uniforms, school bags, text books and copies etc. What MGYW also does is provide them school fees and personal guidance and mentoring.
Dr Mubina Agboatwalla, Chairperson of HOPE and child specialist in Karachi has been the driving force in setting up these schools and in ensuring they are successfully and efficiently run – which is why these schools have been so popular in the areas where they have been established and enrollment of students have benn increasing constantly.
Dr Mubina Agboatwalla, Chairperson of HOPE and child specialist in Karachi has always maintained that the education provided to the children of HOPE’s home schools should be of excellent quality and all reading materials, such as books etc are all free of cost.
