HOPE Interschool Sports Competition

The importance of sports and games in school encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activity. It also increases self-esteem and mental alertness in the students.
Playing sports has numerous physical benefits; maintaining a healthy weight, preventing chronic diseases and learning the skills necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Therefore, extra curriculum activities also play an important role in the life of students.

Taking this viewpoint along, HOPE always encourages its students to participate in different activities. These students belong to the improvised communities whose families cannot afford to send them to good private schools. Thus, HOPE not only provides them free quality education but also takes care of their mental and physical health and helps them excel in life.

This year HOPE organized an interschool sports competition at Pakistan Sports Board. The competition included 100m Race, car race, long jump, relay race, frog Jump, spoon race, rope game, needle race, book race and cart race. The competition was among HOPE Karachi Formal, Informal schools’ students and HOPE Thatta Formal School’s students. The Thatta School’s students won most of the races.

The sports competition was followed by a prize distribution ceremony in which the chief guest Mr.Riaz contractor, Manager-Aga khan Sports Board, distributed trophies among the winners. He also addressed the students and enlightened them about the importance of sports and sportsman spirit.
