HOPE DISTRIBUTES RATION BAGS AT BILAL COLONY AND MUJAHID COLONY

The Major population of Pakistan is deprived of the basic necessities of life, from which one of the most important is food. Only a starving person knows what it is like to sleep hungry.

HOPE - A Health NGO in Pakistan distributes rations among the poor families every month throughout the year. The teams were sent to distribute ration bags among the needy households at Bilal Colony and Mujahid Colony, where vans were loaded with food items and ration bags were sent to different slum areas of Karachi for distribution among needy households. The food items and ration bags were distributed at the door steps of needy families.

These needy people belong to the communities, to whom HOPE extends its hands to help them. They were delighted to receive the ration as they belong to the low-income class, who cannot even afford to buy basic groceries. Seeing the contentment on the faces of these people was extremely gratifying and it affirmed our belief that all the efforts, the hassle, the obstacles are worth going through just to see a smile on the faces of these destitute people who can’t afford to buy food. The ration bags comprising of various items such as milk powder, flour, cooking oil, sugar, pulses, rice, tea bags and dates were distributed among the elderly individuals of impoverished communities.

HOPE - An NGO in Pakistan is particularly thankful to its generous donors, because without the continuous support, these acts of happiness would not be possible.

Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in Karachi assures that HOPE will continue facilitating people in distress, especially women by providing them assistance in terms of food, health and education.

Communities residing in far flung and rural areas across Karachi are indeed very poor an.  HOPE provides help to them in the form of food distribution. Recently in the underprivileged communities of the society; HOPE has distributed cooked food among the children and the underprivileged families in different rural areas.

HOPE HAS ESTABLISHED AN MCH CENTER AT MUZAFFARGARH PUNJAB

At HOPE - A Health NGO in Pakistan we believe maternal health is particularly important because of the impacts it has on the future generations and communities. Not only does access to good quality maternal healthcare ensure the good health of a mother, but her good health also helps to ensure the good health of her newborn child and the rest of her family.

Yousuf Foundation joined hands with HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan, for the establishment of 3 MCH Centers to be built in rural areas in Pakistan. Two of which were built in Garhi Habibullah, KPK and the other at Mansehra, KPK. While the third and most recent one was recently constructed at Basti Shakirwali Mozah Jesalwain, Jhang Road, Muzaffargarh, Punjab.

Muzaffargarh, Punjab. The inauguration of which was conducted on 19th October 2023.

This is a 5 bed MCH Center, consisting of a delivery room, C-Section machine, oxygen, medicines, nebulizers.  The staff in this MCH Center consists of an LHV, Dispenser and a cleaner. The types of medical problems faced here are mostly flu, cold, cough, skin problems, diarrhea, maternity and gynecological related complains.  People living in rural areas have no access to primary health care facilities which leads to sever health complications which may even result in death.

It has been just 3 weeks since the MCH at Muzaffargarh started and so far it has been doing quite well. Approximately 25-30 OPD and general patients visit this MCH on daily basis, and the number of patients per day is increasing with every passing day. The patients of that area spread their positive experience about our MCH among their relatives and friends circle, which increases awareness through which more patients can benefit.

CHILD DELIVERY AT HOPE MCH CENTER LANGARPURA, AZAD KASHMIR.

This weekend we achieved a new milestone in our fight to reduce Maternal and Infant Mortality in Pakistan - the first delivery of a baby from our Maternal and Child Health Center network took place at our MCHC in Langarpura, Azad Kashmir. In these remote regions, the terrain is mountainous and difficult to commute by car and healthcare facilities are few and far between.  Even if such facilities do exist, they are often not well-equipped and the less fortunate simply cannot afford them.  It is a standard practice that poor mothers labor and deliver their children in their own homes.

Unfortunately, the lack of accessible healthcare facilities for poor communities has led to adversely high Maternal and Infant Mortality rates in Pakistan, especially in cases where there are labor complications or medical intervention is needed.  In Pakistan, 33% of maternal deaths and 80% of infant deaths are preventable!

HOPE – A Health NGO in Pakistan has been working diligently to provide free/nominal cost quality prenatal and infant care to underserved communities. In urban slum areas of Karachi, we operate four Hospitals in which a total of 15,000 children are born safely each year.

While in the Northern Areas of Pakistan, HOPE under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla – A Child Specialist in Karachi, has gone a step further, by establishing 3 new MCH Centers in the regions of Langarpura, Garhi Habibullah and Mansehra with birthing provisions, essentially making them a mini-hospitals.  This measure is a proactive step to ensure safe deliveries for both mothers and children in those communities.

HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan is grateful to our all our generous supporters who have made regular contributions towards the construction of these facilities along with ensuring their smooth operations.
