THE MOBILE HEALTH UNIT (MHU) OF HOPE

Providing world class health care facility is an obligation on HOPE- An NGO in Pakistan. Health care is a basic and essential human need in every part of the world. Regardless of the fact that a person in ill or not, regular checkups are good personal habits. In Pakistan there has been a rampant growth in the health care sector.

Most private organizations do not find it financially viable to set up health care services in rural villages due to several reasons. Greater distances, lack of proper road networks and low population densities discourage the private sector in investing in rural healthcare.

Villages in the outskirts of Karachi and interior Sindh are the prime example of such rural areas. These villages face serious health challenges with infectious diseases such as gastrointestinal disorder, pulmonary tuberculosis, malaria and diarrhea being very common. Moreover, malnutrition of children is another alarming problem

HOPE – A Health NGO in Pakistan along with the collaboration of Asia Petroleum Limited are providing Mobile health Units to the out skirts of Karachi where no one reaches. This facility provides primary healthcare facility to patients residing in those areas and the neighbouring villages.

The Mobile Health Unit clinics are easily accessible. With the right vehicle design and paramedic team behind the wheel, it is compact and can get to any place anytime.  A Mobile Health Unit can cut down the time when it comes to treating an emergency patient or even covering the medical needs of people in a large area.  This is a big relief for patients, who do not have transportation or access to medical facilities within their locality.

Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in Karachi, has been collaborating with national and international organizations. The funds donated from these organizations has helped immensely in establishing hospitals, schools, MHU, MCH Centers vocational centers and many other projects. Ultimately it is clear that HOPE is playing a vital role in developing the society by creating accessibility and ease for the underprivileged population.

 

 

 

HOPE AND ITS NETWORK OF FORMAL AND HOME SCHOOLS

The importance of education cannot be overestimated, as it is the key to a bright and successful future. At HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan, it is our firm belief that all children including the less privileged ones deserve a chance to get a quality education, as it is the best way for them to realize their true potential. Our focus is to provide children with the opportunity to learn and develop, so they can grow up to be an integral and provide a useful contribution to the society.

HOPE – An Educational NGO in Pakistan has a network of Formal and Home schools.  HOPE has 3 formal schools which are located in Karachi (Korangi), Thatta, Muzaffargarh. These school have classes from pre-school up to metric. Well qualified teachers and faculty are teaching the students. More than 1700 students are studying at HOPE Formal schools. These formal schools have facilities similar to a private school, which includes computer labs, science labs, recreational and extracurricular activities. 

HOPE schools have class upto matric. Students of HOPE have achieved A grades in their board exams. HOPE has a network of home schools throughout the country. These schools are functioning in the homes of the community girls.  The children living in community attend the school as it is easily accessible. Many girls drop out of school after primary classes, as parents do not want to send their girls to schools, which are located far off. The home schools are taught by girls who are in matric or intermediate and also share knowledge with other girls in the community.  They are then encouraged to give private high school examinations. No fees is taken from the students, textbooks are given from free, and other essential furniture items such as blackboard, chairs, tables, dari etc. are also provided by HOPE.

In keeping with HOPE’s traditions, Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla – A Child Specialist in Karachi, strives harder with the passing of time to provide as much quality health assistance to the general masses as possible.

EID-E-MILAD UN NABI CELEBRATIONS AT HOPE ZIA SCHOOL

After the successful event of Eid-Milad-un-Nabi at the HOPE Head office, Gurumandir Hospital, Thatta, Muzaffargarh and AJK, the Staff of HOPE Zia School arranged the celebration of Eid-Milad-un-Nabi on Wednesday the 16^th of November 2022. 

Eid Milad-un-Nabi is the birthday of the Prophet and is observed in a similar way by Muslims around the world. The third month in Islamic Calendar, Rabi Al Awwal falls after the holy month of Muharram and Safar. 'Milad un Nabi', this day is observed as a public holiday in many countries with a large Muslim population as it commemorates the anniversary of the birth of the founder of Islam and the proclaimer of the Quran.

At the Milad, all students and staff members of HOPE Zia School and Informal schools of HOPE - An NGO in Pakistan participated actively. Students and teachers prepared naats and emphasized on the teaching of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). Remembering his teachings gives a sense of forgiveness and satisfaction to the people who are working for the betterment of this society by extending a helping hand towards the poor.

The occasion started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Students of HOPE’s schools recited naats in their beautiful voices. HOPE - An Educational NGO in Pakistan is always doing its best to create more ways which allows students to reveal their hidden talents, and on this occasion, it was a great opportunity for students to show their love for our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) in their beautiful voices. Naats were recited by famous Naat Khuwans, Teachers and students in the way that it engaged the audience in the feeling of devotion.  Everyone celebrated the day with complete happiness and zeal.

Sweets, snacks and refreshments were distributed among the students and staff members. The HOPE School staff made all the seating and audio arrangements for the event. Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in Karachi, also attended the event to encourage the children and applaud their efforts.

ROTARY CLUB COSMOPOLITAN ARRANGED A POLIO VACCINATION DRIVE AT HOPE SCHOOL

Polio is a disease that affects the nervous system, causing paralysis and even death. Children under the age of five are most vulnerable to the disease. While there is no cure for the disease, regular vaccinations have proven to be effective in keeping children polio free.

Pakistan and Afghanistan are the last remaining countries that have been unable to eradicate polio. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a lack of infrastructure, remote locations, population movement, conflict and insecurity, and resistance to vaccination are some of the reasons why polio is still endemic in the two countries.

This is where HOPE – A Health NGO in Pakistan understands the significance of the situation and emphasizes on the importance of basic health awareness and health care facilities.

Rotary Club Cosmopolitan arranged a Polio Vaccination Drive on Tuesday, October 25^th 2022 at HOPE Secondary School, Zia Colony, Korangi.

The Vaccination started at 11:30 am and went up to 1:00 pm. The Rotary Team vaccinated approximately 60 students who were under the age of 5 years old. Which covered the students of Nursery, KG 1 and KG 2.

After the completion of the activity the staff members of HOPE had arranged snacks and refreshments for the officials and staff members of Rotary Club Cosmopolitan. 

All in all, Rotary Club Cosmopolitan along with the collaboration of HOPE- An NGO in Pakistan conducted a very successful Polio camp at HOPE Secondary School, Zia Colony, Korangi, Karachi.

MOU SIGNING BETWEEN HOPE AND ADVANCED LABORATORIES

 

HOPE (Health Oriented Preventive Education) is a Karachi based NGO providing services of health and education for the poor and needy in Pakistan. It was established in 1997 and has grown from a band of street volunteers to a huge national network of schools, hospitals and vocational centers. HOPE - An NGO in Pakistan does not focus on only one aspect of life, in fact, it believes in integration and aims to provide quality education and health care with vocational training and community development to the underserved.

HOPE - An Educational NGO in Pakistan has been a precursor in providing free and quality Health care within its means to eradicate the health issues in Pakistan; with the spirit of which, HOPE recently signed an MOU with Advanced Laboratories on Saturday 22^nd October 2022. Advanced Laboratories is one of the fastest-growing Certified Laboratory which has branches across Pakistan. Advanced Lab will serve as a collection point of samples, reports and other laboratory related activities.  Which will highly benefit the patients who are facing medical emergencies and do not have the means to cater them financially.

 Under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - Child Specialist in Karachi, HOPE does its best to help the underprivileged population through which ever means possible.   

 

EID MILAD UN NABI CELEBRATED WITH FULL DEVOTION AT HOPE GURUMANDIR HOSPITAL

After the successful event of Eid-Milad-un-Nabi at the HOPE Head office, the Staff of HOPE Gurumandir Hospital and office arranged the celebration of Eid-Milad-un-Nabi at the HOPE General Hospital and Maternity Home Gurumandir on Friday the 14^th of October 2022.

HOPE TEAM SETS OUT TO HELP THE FLOOD VICTIMS AT RANIPUR, DADU & LARKANA

Many rural areas of Pakistan especially interior Sindh and the Northern areas have been affected by these rain spells and flood, as the house of the underprivileged population have been destroyed. Along with which all their belongings and food items have been washed away.  These poor people live hand to mouth and do not have any other resources for survival.

HOPE – A Health NGO in Pakistan is doing its level best to create ease for the people, who have lost their homes and shelters due to the recent floods. Through the generous help of its donors, HOPE team made a whole-hearted, meaningful effort of going all the way from Karachi to various cities in Sindh, Punjab, Baluchistan and AJK for the distribute ration, drinking water, cooked food, cooking oil and other supplies to poor and needy families devastated by the recent floods.

HOPE - An NGO in Pakistan, through the generous help of its donors made a whole-hearted, meaningful effort of going all the way from Karachi to distribute much needed ration, drinking water and supplies to poor and needy families in Ranipur, Dadu and Larkana, devastated in the recent floods and without any means of sustenance.

The ration bags provided consisted of various items such as dry milk, ghee, flour, cooking oil, sugar, pulses, rice, tea leaf, soap, detergent, salt, spices etc. which sums up to the basic needs required in any household. The children and people stranded there were very happy to receive the ration bags, it was a feeling of relief during this hard time when people have nothing to eat or drink. By providing ration bags and drinking water to these floods effected victims, it has helped them a lot during these difficult times.

The Chairperson of HOPE  Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla – A Child Specialist in Karachi has plans to help in rehabilitation of the fallen houses.  HOPE team, personally participated in the flood relief efforts and in this case too, traveled all the way to Ranipur, Dadu and Larkana as well as the surrounding areas to ensure that the relief activity is carried out with efficiency and maximum number of flood victims are benefited.

Milad-un-Nabi is the birthday of the Prophet and is observed in a similar way by Muslims around the world. The third month in Islmaic Calendar, Rabi Al Awwal falls after the holy month of Muharram and Safar.

Eid-e-Milad comprises of recitation of religious poems to celebrate the praises of the Holy Prophet, are held by Muslims during the month of Rabiulawal, the third month of the Muslim calendar. Commonly also renowned as 'Milad un Nabi', this day is observed as a public holiday in many countries with a large Muslim population as it commemorates the anniversary of the birth of the founder of Islam and the proclaimer of the Quran.

Every year Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi is celebrated in the schools and hospitals of HOPE – AN NGO in Pakistan, to bring religious unity among the students and staff members. It also gives a chance to the students to show their talent.

Keeping the tradition alive of arranging various religious programs at HOPE, this year the occasion of Eid-Milad-un-Nabi was arranged on 04th October 2022 at the head office.

HOPE CONTINUES ITS MISSION BY REACHING OUT TO THE LESS FORTUNATE AFFECTED BY THE FLOOD

HOPE – A Health NGO in Pakistan is doing its level best to create ease for the people, who have lost their homes and shelters due to the recent floods. Through the generous help of its donors, HOPE team made a whole-hearted, meaningful effort of going all the way from Karachi to various cities in Sindh, Punjab, Baluchistan and AJK for the distribute ration, drinking water, cooked food, cooking oil and other supplies to poor and needy families devastated by the recent floods.

So far, the team has distributed more than 500 ration bags among the needy families throughout the outskirts of Karachi, Dhabejee, Sachal Goth, Bhittaiabad, 100 Quarters, Bilal Colony, Mujahid Colony, the nalaa area of New Karachi Thatta, Muzaffargarh, Sujawal, Badin, Gadap, Swat, Bela, Shikarpur, Larkana, Muzaffarabad etc.

The ration bags provided consisted of various items such as dry milk, ghee, flour, cooking oil, sugar, pulses, rice, tea leaf, soap, detergent, salt, spices etc. which sums up to the basic needs required in any household. The children and people stranded there were very happy to receive the ration bags, it was a feeling of relief during this hard time when people have nothing to eat or drink. By providing ration bags and drinking water to these floods effected victims, it has helped them a lot during these difficult times.

In addition, the Chairperson of HOPE Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla – A Child Specialist in Karachi has also taken priority in the distribution of mosquito nets, Clothes and medical camps for the affected has been provided. HOPE also plans to help in rehabilitation of the fallen houses. HOPE plans its further activities in Dadu and other surrounding villages.

Since mid-June 2022, Pakistan has been drenched by extreme monsoon rains that have led to the country’s worst flooding in a decade. According to Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority, the floods have affected more than 33 million people and destroyed or damaged more than 1 million houses. At least 1,100 people were killed by floodwaters that inundated tens of thousands of square kilometers of the country. HOPE - An NGO in Pakistan, through the generous help of its donors made a whole-hearted, meaningful effort of going all the way from Karachi to distribute much needed ration, drinking water and supplies to poor and needy families in Larkana & Shikarpur, devastated in the recent floods and without any means of sustenance.

The team prepare ration bags each containing the essentials required in every house hold. The ration bags provided consisted of various items such as dry milk, ghee, flour, cooking oil, sugar, pulses, rice, tea leaf, soap, detergent, salt, spices etc. which sums up to the basic needs required in any household. The children and people stranded there were very happy to receive the ration bags, it was a feeling of relief during this hard time when people have nothing to eat or drink. By providing ration bags and drinking water to these flood effected victims, it has helped them a lot during these difficult times.

HOPE – A Health NGO in Pakistan is doing it level best to create ease for the people, who have lost their homes and shelters due to the flood and rains. HOPE is also providing mosquito nets to the flood effected victims, as now due to the stagnant flood water in various areas the ratio of dengue and other diseases are high in the Interior Sindh, Baluchistan, Punjab and KPK. So despite providing cooked food, ration and drinking water HOPE also finds it necessary to distribute mosquito nets, so that the families and children in those areas can sleep peacefully. 

The Chairperson of HOPE, Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla – A Child Specialist in Karachi, has always been the guiding force in organizing and implementing such relief activities with great success. HOPE team, personally participated in the flood relief efforts and in this case too, traveled all the way to Larkana & Shikarpur as well as the surrounding areas to ensure that the relief activity is carried out with efficiency and maximum number of flood victims are benefited.
