ANNUAL FUNCTION 2021 HELD AT HOPE SCHOOL MUZAFFARGARH

 HOPE- An Educational NGO in Pakistan has a school operating in Muzaffargarh near Godhar Chowk. HOPE is the pioneer of formal education system provided for the underserved population of Muzaffargarh.

Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla and HOPE team members from Karachi visited HOPE Formal School in Muzaffargarh. The team was on annual visit to the school which is paid every year to evaluate and maintain the progress of the school. The students and teaching staff of the school welcomed HOPE team wholeheartedly. 

Annual function is the most awaited activity at HOPE School Muzaffargarh for which everybody waits whole year. The students had prepared tableaus and skits. Their performances on stage brought out the hidden talent in them and it proved that these underprivileged children have the ability to compete with others and excel in life. They performed on different folk songs. The students also made motivational speech on various topics. It showed their depth of knowledge and confidence.

HOPE- An NGO in Pakistan evaluates the performance of its teachers and students throughout the year. Representatives from HOPE Karachi visit the school regularly. Based on the performance report, HOPE’s Chairperson Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla – A Child Specialist in Karachi, presented shields to the best teacher, best student and best outstanding performance of the year. She also awarded cash prizes to the students who made speech to encourage them. Prize distribution ceremony was followed by annual lunch. HOPE team served the students scrumptious biryani and juices.

Like every year HOPE team brought many gifts for the students of HOPE School Muzaffargarh. They distributed lunch boxes as gifts among the students of the school. The students were overjoyed to receive the gifts. Their eyes glimmered when they received the gifts. Teachers are valuable assets of HOPE School Muzaffargarh; they were also presented beautiful shawls as token of appreciation of their efforts.

Pur Water Purifier Demonstration at Muzaffargarh

Muzaffargarh is a city in the province of Punjab, Pakistan. Located on the bank of the Chenab River, it is the capital of the district with the same name. It is the 39th largest city of Pakistan by population

Muzaffargarh features an arid climate with very hot summers and mild winters. The city has experienced some of the most extreme weather in Pakistan. The highest recorded temperature was approximately 54 °C 

HOPE - An NGO in Pakistan, has assigned a team specifically for this project who visit different slum areas of Pakistan to distribute water purifying kits and sachets along with the demonstration on how it is prepared and on how to use it correctly. The team visits areas where the population is deprived of clean drinking water. Each family is provided a purifying kit that consists of:

·         Cooler

·         Bucket

·         Muslin Cloth

·         Spatula

·         Pur sachets

Last week team HOPE visited Muzaffarabad, where clean drinking water is not easily accessible. Hence, the team gave a demonstration to the local communities of the area and provided them with the purifying kits along with P&G Pur sachets.

The United Nations considers universal access to clean water a basic human right, and an essential step towards improving living standards worldwide. Water-poor communities are typically economically poor as well, their residents trapped in an ongoing cycle of poverty. Keeping this in mind, HOPE - A Health NGO in Pakistan in collaboration with Procter & Gamble is making clean water accessible by distributing P&G Purifier of Water sachets to the door steps of poor families.

Under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla – A Child Specialist in Karachi and the chairperson of HOPE. The aim is to benefit the community while making clean water accessible for all, hence, reducing the morbidities especially among children. In addition, this will also provide opportunity to improve standards of living while improving health status.

HOPE Team Visits Muzaffargarh (DAY 2)

Education plays an extremely important role in the human capital formation. Education not only improves productivity levels, but also increases efficiency among individuals thus leads towards a sustainable economy. Like various other developing countries, the education sector in Pakistan remains weak as there are: low enrollment rates, wide disparities between regions and gender, lack of trained teachers and resources. These factors are even more significant when a city in south-western Punjab, Pakistan, is taken into consideration. Within Muzaffargarh, the literacy rates remain low as the majority of the population work menial jobs to provide their families with the basic needs of life.

With these statistics in mind, the failure to deliver basic human rights such as education to disadvantaged citizens has led to HOPE- an Educational NGO in Pakistan, playing an important role in filling this void.

On day 2 of the visit, the team visited the school where approximately 200+ students are enrolled, respectively. The team distributed gifts, school bags, shoes, jeans, toys, and warm clothes, pencil case for students and handbags for the teachers there.

Food items, rolls and juice boxes were also distributed among the students and teachers there. The children were so excited and happy to receive the distributed items; the smiles and happiness on their face was clearly seen.

HOPE is ecstatic to see its students in the rural regions of Punjab studying despite the walk from their homes. Dr.Mubina Agboatwalla – A Child Specialist in Karachi and a born philanthropist, is of the view that, providing basic necessities to the underprivileged class, is obligatory for those who have the capacity to help.

With the passion to serve humanity, HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan reaches out to all those who no one reaches out to. These schools are giving free and quality education to the poor children, who cannot even afford to buy uniforms, bags, books etc. for school. Hence, each year HOPE's team under the supervision of Dr. Mubina, visits the school in Punjab and distributes food items as well as new clothes, uniforms, books etc. To the poor children studying there.

A joyous chatter filled the air as everyone dug into their shares. The visit proved to be an enjoyable one that left smiles on the students as well the HOPE team.

HOPE’s TEAM VISIT MUZAFFARGARH –SPORTS DAY

 Muzaffargarh is an underdeveloped area. Local people are living closer to poverty line. Lives of people are very difficult there. Education is like a luxury to those who are living hand to mouth.   HOPE Muzaffargarh School is located in Basera, which is 22 kilometers away from Muzaffargarh. Muzaffargarh is located at almost the exact geographical center of Pakistan; the city features an arid climate with very hot summers and mild winters. The closest major city is Multan which is at a distance of 40kms.

HOPE - An NGO in Pakistan, has been successfully operating a school as well as a vocational center in Muzaffargarh which is located a little further away from the main town of Muzaffargarh. HOPE team visited Muzaffargarh along with Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in Karachi.HOPE has set up a formal school system in Muzaffargarh.  The school currently has 200+ students.

On the first day of the visit, the team monitored the overall performance of the children regarding class participation, confidence, physical health, punctuality and their ability to comprehend the subject matter.

As the day commenced, sports activities were performed, where students were enthusiastic to show the chairperson all that they’ve been practicing for. The sports day activities included spoon/marble race, relay race, tug of war, sack race, balloon race, banana eating race, wheel barrow race and cricket.

The Team of HOPE – AnEducational NGO in Pakistan served snacks and juices to the students to keep them active during the event. The participants mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. Even the spectators that included school children and parents were equally excited. They were applauding every participant to boost their morale. At the end of Sports Day, HOPE’s chairperson Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla awarded trophies to the winners and runner ups. She also encouraged other participants who couldn’t make it to top three positions.

HOPE CELEBRATES EID UL AZHA BY SERVING THE ONES IN NEED

Eid ul azha is a feast of sacrifice, popularly known as Bakra Eid in our nation, is where Muslims are meant to pay symbolic tribute to Prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son on the command of Allah.

On this annual 3-day Islamic holiday, Muslims who earn a good enough living, follow Prophet Abraham’s example by committing a fraction of their wealth to the sacrifice of livestock. The meat gained, of course, is divided into three portions, one of which is supposed to go to the poor and needy.

HOPE- an NGO in Pakistan celebrates Eid in all its glory by sacrificing 10 cows and 18 goats. The meat is then chopped andpackets are made. Once all the preparation is complete. HOPEs team then distributes these packets among the needy.

The following are the areas where meat packets are distributed to poor families: AJK, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Muzaffargarh. Then comes the rural areas of Karachi which are as follows: Rehri Goth, Bhes colony, Ghaggar, Gadap, Link road, Kathore, Gul Hassan Goth. Lastly karachi’s slum areas : Zia Colony, Bilal Colony, Mujahid Colony, Sachal Goth, Korangi and Bhittaiabad serving a total of 1700 families.

Rising prices of sacrificial animals has made it impossible for the middle strata to take part in this religious exercise. The hike in prices has left the public with sole option of window-shopping the livestock markets. HOPE still administered its part of feeding the poor by the generous funds given by donors.

Every year HOPE- A Health NGO in Pakistan manages to distribute meat in time only to see those innocent faces lit up once they received their share.

HOPE QURBANI APPEAL 2021

Eid al-Adha the 'Feast of Sacrifice is the most important feast of the Muslim calendar.The festival may also be known as Al Eid Al Kabeer, which means the 'Grand Eid'. This festival is celebrated throughout the Muslim world as a commemoration of Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice everything for God.

Therefore HOPE-an NGO in Pakistan, under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in Karachi, strives hard to collect funds and carries out this holy activity at different locations of HOPE including its schools and hospitals.

HOPE has an extensive network of hospitals and schools in Karachi, Thatta, Sujawal, Muzaffargarh, Muzaffarabad, Badin, (AJK) in which extremely poor families reside. These families wait all year round for HOPE's generous distribution of meat and that is what makes their Eid a time to rejoice.

HOPE PROVIDES COURSE BOOKS TO ITS STUDENTS AT MUZAFFARGARH

 The Constitution of Pakistan guarantees the right to education for all children aged 5–16 years. This right is reinforced by laws, policies and programs at both federal and provincial levels. Nevertheless, over 6.5 million children are currently not in primary school and another 2.7 million are not in lower secondary school. These children, as well as those who are at risk of dropping out, are being denied the right to a full basic education of good quality.
