LIPTON PROVIDES COOKED FOOD TO THE STUDENTS AND PATIENTS AT ZIA COLONY KORANGI.

Sometimes a small thing you do can mean everything in another person’s life. Charity does not always represent giving lavish and huge items to the needy ones, instead it can symbolize by fulfilling their basic needs such as providing basic food requirements. The best strategy for providing food to the community is by bringing it to their doorsteps.

Lipton brought joy among the students and patients of HOPE Zia Colony, Korangi, by their act of kindness. Lipton is a British-American brand of tea, owned by Ekaterra. They did this by serving cooked food among the underprivileged students of HOPE Zia School Korangi as well as the patients at HOPE Zia Hospital.  The team members of HOPE - An Education NGO in Pakistan, served the students and patients the delicious Biryani. The students were grateful with joy for such a yummy treat. Their pure joy was reflected in their eyes.

The biryani boxes which were distributed among the students brought a huge smile on their faces. These kinds of cooked food distribution are often conducted at the schools, hospitals and MCH centers of HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan.

The students of Zia school belong to the lower class who are not blessed with such lavish meals very often as their parents cannot afford to buy them such meals. Hence on receiving the biryani one could see the joy and happiness in their eyes. The smile on the faces of these children was priceless.

These activities are carried out under the supervision of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla, A Child Specialist in Karachi, in the selection of the sites for the food distribution. She does her best to help create a positive impact in improving their lives, and also takes care of the opportunities, she can provide to give them some moments to cherish.

A nation which doesn’t spends much on child education; forever, remains in the grasp of poverty and misery not only suffering today but also destroying its tomorrow. A child is the key to the success of a nation and education is the key to success of a child. It is only when a child succeeds that the nation will.

HOPE STUDENTS ENJOY HIGH-TEA BUFFET AT MARRIOTT HOTEL SPONSORED BY MGYW

Women's education in Pakistan is a fundamental right of every female citizen, according to article thirty-seven of the Constitution of Pakistan, but gender discrepancies still exist in the educational sector. According to the 2011 Human Development Report of the United Nations Development Program, approximately twice as many males as females receive a secondary education in Pakistan.

The general perception of culturally traditional gender roles that, specifically, a woman is expected to take care of the home as wife and mother, whereas the male dominates outside the home as a breadwinner, are questionable in certain sector.

This is where HOPE – An Educational NGO in Pakistan tries its level best to break such stereotypes and mentality which people believe that women have no rights to education. Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in Karachi, looks forward in a gender equality nation, in which her aim is to empower women for their economic growth. MGYW also encourages the grooming and education of young women to develop them into a valuable asset for the country.

Pakistani American Forum/Merit Grants for Young Women (MGYW) is a non-profit organization founded in 2000 to promote higher education (beyond basic literacy) among under-privileged young women of Pakistan - regardless of ethnicity, race, province, sect, or religion. It works with MGYW Pakistan to achieve its goals. All MGYW Board members are volunteers and some regularly travel to Pakistan at their own expense to monitor the program.

On 27th April 2023, MGYW took the young girls of HOPE Zia School to Marriott Hotel Karachi for High-tea Buffet as an appreciation to see the dedication and interest of young girls studying at HOPE School.  The members of MGYW also had an interesting conversion with each student, in which they asked them about themselves their aim in life and about their progress in education at HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan.

Ms. Zeenat and Ms. Shazia members of MGYW gave an interesting speech on education and how important it is for girls to receive education about its benefits. They encouraged the girls to continue their education and pursue their career in their field of interest.

After the food was done, MGYW provided the girls with gift hampers containing unstitched lawn suits.  The girls were very happy to receive the gifts the happiness could be seen shining through their eyes.

DISTRIBUTION OF IFTARI AND COOKED FOOD AMONG THE UNDERSERVED

Communities residing in far flung areas across Karachi are indeed very poor and during Ramadan, HOPE,

a Health NGO in Pakistan provides help to them in the form of food distribution. Recently in the
underprivileged communities of the society; HOPE has distributed biryani packets and iftar boxes among the children and the underprivileged families in different rural areas of Karachi such as, Rehri Goth, Bhens Colony, Zia Colony, Bhittaiabad, SachalGoth, Gadap, DhabeyJee, Ghaggar, Link Road, Bilal Colony, Manzoor Colony, Shah Ghazi Goth, Mujahid Colony etc. Iftar boxes and biryani is also distributed in the adjoining rural areas.

The biryani packets and Iftar Boxes were distributed to a very large number of people in these areas –
bringing joy and smiles to their faces. Such distribution of food by HOPE - An NGO in Pakistan is
conducted on a regular basis throughout the month of Ramadan, in rural slum areas and in the villages
on the edge of the city. These people were delighted to receive the Biryani, as they belong to the low-
income class who cannot afford to enjoy eating a good Iftar like we do. The smile on the faces of these
children is priceless.

These activities are carried out under the supervision of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla, A Child Specialist in
Karachi
, in the selection of the sites for the food distribution. So far approximately 3500 plus biryani packets and Iftar Boxes have been distributed in these lesser privileged areas. Around 250 packets are distributed daily during Ramdan to bring smiles on the faces of these children and alleviate their hunger in this holy month. The team will continue to distribute Iftar and Briyani boxes till the end of Ramadan.

The acknowledgement and appreciation of our work boosts up our team’s motivation level committing
them to put in even greater effort in doing so. HOPE welcomes individuals and organizations who want
to play their role in helping HOPE to achieve its target.
