HOPE’S ROLE IN PROVIDING HEALTHCARE FACILITIES

The primary focus of  HOPE – A Health NGO in Pakistan is providing accessible healthcare services to communities in remote and underserved areas of Pakistan, where healthcare facilities are limited, inadequate, or difficult to access. The lack of basic healthcare services in these regions contributes significantly to high maternal and child mortality rates. HOPE works to address these challenges in both rural communities and urban slums, with particular emphasis on the healthcare needs of underprivileged mothers and children.

In Karachi, HOPE has established secondary-care hospitals in Korangi and Gurumandir. In addition, HOPE operates hospitals in Thatta and Sujawal, extending healthcare services to communities outside the major urban centers.

To further strengthen maternal and child healthcare services, HOPE has recently established three new Maternal and Child Health Care (MCH) Centers. One center is located at Basti Shakirwali, Mozah Jesalwain, Jhang Road, Muzaffargarh, Punjab; another is located in Murad Abad, Kashmir; and the third has been established in Baidrah, Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Building on the successful operation of its MCH Centers in Karachi, including those in Manzoor Colony, Mujahid Colony, Bilal Colony, Qayyumabad, and 100 Quarter Korangi, HOPE has expanded its maternal and child healthcare operations beyond Karachi into Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. This expansion aims to address the significant healthcare needs of communities where existing medical infrastructure remains insufficient to meet the needs of the population.

HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan also operates two Mobile Health Units (MHUs) in partnership with Asia Petroleum Limited (APL). These mobile units provide healthcare services to more than 20 villages and underserved communities, ranging from the slum areas of Karachi and Pipri to villages in Hub, Balochistan. These communities often have limited or no access to essential medical services. The Mobile Health Units provide medical consultations, appropriate treatment, and medicines free of cost.

HOPE’s hospitals and MCH Centers are equipped with essential medical facilities and supplies, including medicines, oxygen, nebulizers, ultrasound machines, delivery rooms, and equipment required for emergency procedures. The MCH Centers are staffed by qualified healthcare personnel, including a Lady Health Visitor (LHV), doctor, dispenser, and cleaner.

The health conditions commonly treated at these facilities include flu, colds, coughs, skin infections, diarrhea, maternity-related conditions, and gynecological problems. For many people living in rural and underserved areas, the absence of accessible primary healthcare can allow otherwise manageable conditions to develop into serious complications.

Recognizing these challenges, Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla A Child Specialist in Karachi and founder of HOPE, continues to focus on expanding Maternal and Child Health Care Centers across Pakistan. Through these initiatives, HOPE aims to bring essential healthcare services closer to communities in need, where patients can receive treatment and medicines either free of cost or at minimal charges.

Every month, thousands of patients benefit from the healthcare services provided through HOPE’s hospitals, MCH Centers, and Mobile Health Units. Through its continued expansion, HOPE remains committed to improving access to quality healthcare for vulnerable communities throughout Pakistan.

COOKED FOOD DISTRIBUTION AT MUJAHID COLONY

Many communities living in underserved and rural areas of Karachi face severe financial hardships and struggle to meet their basic needs. HOPE continues to support these vulnerable communities by providing essential food assistance. As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts, HOPE recently distributed freshly cooked meals to children, needy families, and patients in underserved areas.

HOPE – A Health NGO in Pakistan, brought moments of happiness and relief to the residents of Mujahid Colony, through a cooked food distribution initiative. The organization provided nutritious meals to underprivileged community members as well as patients visiting its Mother and Child Health (MCH) Centers.

The HOPE team distributed delicious biryani among the residents, bringing smiles and happiness to many families. The recipients expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the generous gesture, and their appreciation was clearly reflected in their faces.

Approximately 200 packets of biryani were distributed among the residents of Mujahid Colony. For many families living in these low-income communities, enjoying a wholesome and special meal such as biryani is not a regular occurrence due to financial difficulties. Therefore, receiving a freshly prepared meal provided not only nourishment but also a sense of happiness and dignity.

HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan regularly organizes similar cooked food distribution activities at its schools, hospitals, and MCH Centers, extending support to communities that are most in need.

Under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in Karachi and the Chairperson of HOPE, the organization continues its efforts to address poverty, hunger, illiteracy, and limited access to healthcare. HOPE remains committed to improving the lives of disadvantaged communities across Pakistan and welcomes individuals, donors, and organizations to join hands in supporting its mission.
