HOPE CELEBRATES EID UL AZHA BY SERVING THE ONES IN NEED

Eid ul azha is a feast of sacrifice, popularly known as Bakra Eid in our nation, is where Muslims are meant to pay symbolic tribute to Prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son on the command of Allah.

On this annual 3-day Islamic holiday, Muslims who earn a good enough living, follow Prophet Abraham’s example by committing a fraction of their wealth to the sacrifice of livestock. The meat gained, of course, is divided into three portions, one of which is supposed to go to the poor and needy.

HOPE- an NGO in Pakistan celebrates Eid in all its glory by sacrificing 10 cows and 18 goats. The meat is then chopped andpackets are made. Once all the preparation is complete. HOPEs team then distributes these packets among the needy.

The following are the areas where meat packets are distributed to poor families: AJK, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Muzaffargarh. Then comes the rural areas of Karachi which are as follows: Rehri Goth, Bhes colony, Ghaggar, Gadap, Link road, Kathore, Gul Hassan Goth. Lastly karachi’s slum areas : Zia Colony, Bilal Colony, Mujahid Colony, Sachal Goth, Korangi and Bhittaiabad serving a total of 1700 families.

Rising prices of sacrificial animals has made it impossible for the middle strata to take part in this religious exercise. The hike in prices has left the public with sole option of window-shopping the livestock markets. HOPE still administered its part of feeding the poor by the generous funds given by donors.

Every year HOPE- A Health NGO in Pakistan manages to distribute meat in time only to see those innocent faces lit up once they received their share.

Eid al-Adha the 'Feast of Sacrifice is the most important feast of the Muslim calendar.The festival may also be known as Al Eid Al Kabeer, which means the 'Grand Eid'. This festival is celebrated throughout the Muslim world as a commemoration of Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice everything for God.

Therefore HOPE-an NGO in Pakistan, under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in Karachi, strives hard to collect funds and carries out this holy activity at different locations of HOPE including its schools and hospitals.

HOPE has an extensive network of hospitals and schools in Karachi, Thatta, Sujawal, Muzaffargarh, Muzaffarabad, Badin, (AJK) in which extremely poor families reside. These families wait all year round for HOPE's generous distribution of meat and that is what makes their Eid a time to rejoice.

HOPE PROVIDES COURSE BOOKS TO ITS STUDENTS AT MUZAFFARGARH

 The Constitution of Pakistan guarantees the right to education for all children aged 5–16 years. This right is reinforced by laws, policies and programs at both federal and provincial levels. Nevertheless, over 6.5 million children are currently not in primary school and another 2.7 million are not in lower secondary school. These children, as well as those who are at risk of dropping out, are being denied the right to a full basic education of good quality.

HOPE- an NGO in Pakistan diligently tries to provide education to all, especially the underprivileged masses. Under the vigorous leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A child specialist in Karachi, most of the organization’s activities are focused primarily on the rural and urban slum areas of Pakistan. Recently HOPE – An educational NGO in Pakistan, purchased text books and course books for all the students of the school, ranging from nursery up to class 8.  HOPE strives to provide underprivileged masses with free education and these formal schools provide these children opportunities they can avail to elevate their living standards.

HOPE ENCOURAGES COMPUTER TRAINING AMONG THE UNDERPRIVILLAGED YOUTH

HOPE - An Educational NGO in Pakistan being the glowing candle in the darkness by providing equal opportunities of growth for young girls and boys, to become financially strong and independent by educating them with different skill sets.

For this purpose, HOPE has established computer training centers in Thatta, Karachi, Gadap and Muzaffargarh. The computer training courses are basically divided in three phases. The First phase is of Typing and Paint, 2nd Phase is of MS OFFICE and the 3rd phase is of Computer Graphics. HOPE’s qualified teachers are delivering their best to the students.

The basic aim of establishing these computer courses is training the youth on a skill development which will assist them in finding office administrational related jobs and mold their family’s financial status towards a better future.

One of the biggest hurdles faced by HOPE – An Educational NGO in Pakistan is convincing the families of these areas to allow their children and the young girls and boys to gain education via our vocational center. The courses are for 3 months each and during the span of 3 months parents pick and drop their children by themselves and they are quite satisfied by the course material and performance level of their children.

These classes have proved to be beneficial for many individuals because they can now cope up with the competition and be a greater cause as they are now well equipped with computer skill which necessary to survive in this dynamic environment.

Currently there are more than 1500+ students learning diverse skills and many young women who challenge the stereotypical ‘house wife” perception by gaining computer skills. HOPE EXTENDS ASSISTANCE TOWARDS ONE OF ITS LOYAL EMPLOYEES FOR THE MARRIAGE OF HER DAUGHTER

Ms. Nasima has been with HOPE’s  Vocational Center Badin  since its very inception and has worked hard and diligently all through these years. This Vocational center at Badin has equipped many women with a skill which has helped them earn an income and to contribute to the livelihood of their family. Time has presented HOPE - An NGO in Pakistan with an opportunity to assist and reward Nasima, even if in a small measure in the form of financial and material help for her daughter who is about to get married very soon.

Recently, HOPE’s team went to Badin where they gave in-kind and in cash assistance to Naima’s daughter the household goods bought for them, which was delivered at their home. The marriage has been scheduled in the coming week. Nasima was over the moon when she saw HOPE’s team bringing gifts for her daughter. which substantially relieved them and lessened their burden. They thanked HOPE’s staff for being there with them in this hour of need.

Pakistan is a country where the disparity level between the lower middle class and the middle class is very high. Also, the population living below the poverty line is increasing day by day.

HOPE ENHANCES WOMEN EMPOWERMENT THROUGH VOCATIONAL TRAINING

HOPE (Health Oriented Preventive Education) is a Karachi based NGO providing services of health and education for the poor and needy in Pakistan. It was established in 1997 and has grown from a band of street volunteers to a huge national network of schools, hospitals and vocational centers. HOPE believes in educating the masses along with vocational training so that with education, they can also acquire skills to get better job opportunities.

Women empowerment induces sense of self-worth in women. It ensures their right to determine choices in their lives, thus giving them power to control their own lives, both within and outside their home. It’s been a decade since HOPE – An Educational NGO in Pakistan  has been running vocational centers for the underprivileged women of Karachi and rural Sindh. There are many girls who not only get training at HOPE vocational centers but are also enrolled in HOPE schools located in their area. These vocational centers provide training of cutting, sewing, stitching and embroidery. The course is designed to cater the needs of the women at their own pace. Shifts are set in a way that not only the local women but the women from other nearby localities can also come to get training there. They can easily manage their family responsibilities side by side this training. Though travelling across the area is difficult for the women coming for training from distant areas. The training gives them confidence to apply their skills practically. After getting this training many women and girls became able to start their own micro level business by working in their free time at homes. This is how a tiny step can change their lives and eventually the overall living standard of their family.  It will result in economic growth of the society.

HOPE ON A MISSION TO PROVIDE AID FOR THE VICTIMS IN PALESTINE

The sharp escalation in violence in Gaza has left over 100 dead and thousands more injured with this number expected to rise further over the coming days.

The conflict has severely impacted medical facilities within Gaza. Hospitals are overwhelmed, stretched to the limit and running out of medical supplies. Gaza's health system was already under severe pressure due to ongoing staff shortages and lack of medical supplies.

HOPE – A Health NGO in Pakistan, has a proven track record of emergency relief and disaster response in Pakistan.  From the 2005 Kashmir earthquake to the 2009 SWAT Internally displaced persons crisis to the 2020 Karachi Floods, we have been a critical responder to areas in Pakistan affected by disasters.  To date we have helped tens of thousands of individuals rebuild their lives by providing food, shelter, and medical attention following an emergency.

HOPE is eager to play a part in the healing process of the current humanitarian crisis in Palestine by providing victims with Medical Care, Shelter, and Food.  We are collaborating with a team of on-ground field workers to provide aid to Palestinians.  Please join us in our first international relief effort - we are collecting Sadqa funds to execute our plans for this noble cause for all of humanity. 

We are with our local partners on the ground focusing on priority humanitarian needs, including provision of medical supplies and equipment, in addition to multiple purpose cash assistance for affected families.
