DEMONSTRATION OF P&G WATER PURIFIERS BY HOPE TEAM IN DADU

Clean drinking water is an essential need of life and all other human rights. Water as a human right is as much about the quality as it is about access. However, there are many areas in Pakistan where clean drinking water in inaccessible

The United Nations considers universal access to clean water a basic human right, and an essential step towards improving living standards worldwide. Water-poor communities are typically economically poor as well, their residents trapped in an ongoing cycle of poverty. Keeping this in mind, HOPE a Health NGO in Pakistan in collaboration with Procter & Gamble is making clean water accessible by distributing P&G Purifier of Water sachets to the door steps of poor families.

Access to tap water is very low in the areas of Dadu and quality of drinking water remains substandard as the major sources are hand pumps and turbines supplying contaminated or brackish water to local populations.

HOPE - an NGO in Pakistan, has assigned a team specifically for this project who visit different slum areas. Recently HOPE Team visited Dadu, where they distributed water purifying kits and sachets along with the demonstration on how to use it correctly.  Each family is provided a purifying kit that consists of: Cooler, Bucket, Muslin Cloth, Spatula, 120 sachets.

Under the leadership of Dr Mubina Agboatwalla – A child specialist in Karachi, Hope strives its best to provide clean and hygienic drinking water to the areas, where clean and fresh water is not accessible.  The team has been working relentlessly to improve the lives of the people by creating awareness among them, about the benefits of safe drinking water.

The aim is to benefit the community while making clean water accessible for all, hence, reducing the morbidities especially among children. In addition, this will also provide opportunity to improve standards of living while improving health status.

The Story of Ahmed and his ambition to become a Software Engineer.

 Ahmed Abdullah; is the son of a poor farmer. His father has to work very hard in order to provide 2 meals a day for the family.

Ahmed wants to work hard and study with full dedication so that he can work in the city and improve the conditions of his family. Ahmed has a will to study computer and become a software engineer, but there were no computer training institutes anywhere in his area or the villages nearby. One day Ahmed received the news about HOPE Computer Center, which was established in the same school where he was studying and they were teaching computer course free of cost. He was very happy to hear about this news and his prayers were finally heard.   

HOPE an NGO in Pakistan along with the collaboration with P&G came as a savior not just to Ahmed, but to many under privileged young boys and girls like him, who have dreams and ambitions as he does. Also the personal desire of Ahmed’s father for him to study and progress in life has come true. Now along with my academic classes he is also studying computer classes. Ahmend is very thankful to HOPE - An Educational NGO in Pakistan for their unyielding support. Ahmed claims he will make every effort possible to achieve his dream and become a software engineer on day.

 The Microsoft office course at HOPE Computer Center consist of 4-month duration, and currently his 2^nd month is in progress, after completing the 4 months course, he will hopefully possess the basic knowledge about computers and MS office and will be able to work on Ms Office.  

HOPE along with P&G has established computer centers in several rural areas under the Leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist In Karachi. With time the organization is continuing to open up more and more computer centers in areas, where people have no idea what a computer is and the significance of what benefits a computer can provide to an individual whether it is communication, education or getting a job.

 

 

HOPE’S QURBANI ACTIVITY 2020

The aim of sacrifice, like all other fundamentals of Islam, is to imbibe piety and self righteousness. It also promotes the spirit of sacrifice for a right cause. HOPE- an NGO in Pakistan is striving hard to reach out to the poor and less fortunate this Eid.

There is nothing dearer to Allah during the days of Eid al-Adha than the sacrificing of animals. Sacrifice, as practiced by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) is an essential religious ritual of the Muslims – replicating and commemorating the sacrifice performed by Prophet Ibraham in its truest spirit and essence. God put Prophet Ibrahim to a most difficult trial, the details of which are described in the Quran.

Qurbani meat is divided into three parts; one for the family, the other for the neighbor and the third portion for the poor. And so Muslims fulfill their obligation and distribute some meat of goats, cows, sheep and camels to the underprivileged.

HOPE- a Health NGO in Pakistan, was actively involved in the distribution of sacrificed animals among the deserving families this Eid-ul-Azha. HOPE carried out its annual Qurbani on all three days of Eid and sacrificed a total of 15 Cows, whilst 22 Goats were sacrificed and meat was distributed among the poor benefitting approximately 1350 plus families and 10,800 individuals.

HOPE under the supervision of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla- a child specialist in Karachi, distributed meat in every nook and corner, so that no one is left hungry and unhappy this Eid. Areas included: Rehri Goth, Bhens Colony, Ghaggar, Link Road, Gadap, Mujahid Colony, Bhittaiabad, Sachal, Bilal Colony, Zia Colony, Kachra Kundi , Gurumandir, Thatta , Sajawal, Badin,  Muzaffarabad and Muzaffargarh.

HOPE USA chapter, HOPE UK and many individual donors contributed for the share in cows and for goats.

With the spirit of Charity, HOPE was able to put a smile to those underserved population who otherwise starve themselves to sleep every night. HOPE has always been a forerunner in carrying out those activities which benefit humanity in any way possible.

ROBIN HOOD ARMY DONATES COOKIES TO HOPE FOR THE NEEDY CHILDREN

Charity originates from the heart. Charity is the other name of sharing happiness. Contributing towards the underprivileged is like enlightening your own soul. As per the famous quote “You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you”. Charitable activity consists of donating basic human needs such as food, books, clothes, ration and educational items etc; basically items that can help the underprivileged in their daily life. There’s no better gift in giving back to the community, in order to make someone’s life better. Being a helping hand gives you an internal satisfaction and purifies your soul.

HOPE-an NGO in Pakistan, is a non-profit organization which always aims towards an educated and healthy society, where everyone has equal rights. HOPE works for the benefit of underprivileged communities, who are unable to receive quality education and health services.

The Robin Hood Army is a volunteer based zero-funds organization that works to get surplus food from restaurants and the community to serve less fortunate people.

HOPE has received 3,500 plus biscuit packets from Robin Hood Army Pakistan, to be distributed among the underprivileged children of various rural and slum areas of Karachi. These Children do not have the privilege of eating such lavish cookies on regular basis. The smiles that came on the faces of these children after receiving these cookies were priceless.

Donations from individuals and organizations like Robin Hood Army Pakistan make it possible for us to help us in our aim to alleviate the miseries of the poor and needy in various slums of Karachi and rural areas of Sindh.

DEMONSTRATION OF P&G WATER PURIFIERS BY HOPE TEAM IN BADIN & GHAGGAR

HOPE-A Health NGO in Pakistan in collaboration with Procter & Gamble Pakistan, is making clean water accessible by distributing P&G Purifier of Water to the underprivileged communities. P&G Purifier of Water is used for preparing safe drinking water. One single sachet purifies up to 10 liters of brackish water. Compared with other products available in the market, P&G Purifier of Water leaves no salty or sour after-taste.

Majority of the population in Badin and Ghaggar are exposed to hazards of drinking unsafe and polluted water from both surface and ground water sources. Contaminated water is source of many diseases including diarrhea, typhoid, intestinal worms and hepatitis. Under the leadership of Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla - A Child Specialist in Karachi, HOPE has been working relentlessly to improve the lives of the people by creating awareness among them, about the benefits of safe drinking water.

HOPE team demonstrated the process of cleaning the water using P&G Purifiers of Water in Badin as well and Ghaggar. The water purifier demonstration was performed in Thora Goth of Badin, which is an underdeveloped area, and lacks clean water supply. The residence of Badin and Ghaggar were given proper awareness of consuming clean water and were educated about the importance of water hygiene and how clean water can prevent diseases such as diarrhea, typhoid, intestinal worms and hepatitis.

Several people were present during the orientation where they learnt the importance of drinking clean water and how to prepare it by themselves at home. Each participant was provided a purifying kit that consists of a cooler, bucket, muslin cloth, spatula and 170 sachets of P&G Purifier of Water. The aim of this activity was to benefit the local community while making clean water accessible hence reducing the morbidities especially among children. This will also provide them opportunity to improve standards of living while improving health status. HOPE- An NGO in Pakistan provides back-up support in the form of training, IEC material, social marketing and advocacy of P&G Purifier to the socially deprived local population.

QURBANI APPEAL 2020

Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in the month of Zil Hajj, commemorating the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (PBUH). In this regard, some of the companions asked the Prophet (PBUH) regarding the significance of this sacrifice, the Prophet (PBUH) is reported to have replied: “It is the Sunnah of your father, Abraham (PBUH)”. Therefore HOPE-an NGO in Pakistan, under the leadership if Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla- a child specialist in Karachi, strives hard to collect funds and carry out this holy activity at different locations of HOPE including its schools and hospitals.

HOPE has an extensive network of hospitals and schools in Karachi, Thatta, Sujawal, Muzaffargarh, Muzaffarabad, Badin, (AJK) in which extremely poor families reside. These families wait all year round for HOPE's generous distribution of meat and that is what makes their Eid a time to rejoice.

HOPE EQUIPS ITS HOSPITLAS WITH MEDICAL EQUIPMENTS

Pakistan has seen its coronavirus epidemic explode in the past few weeks, seeing multiple consecutive days of record deaths and case rises across the country, pushing hospitals in major cities to the brink of their allocated capacity.

HOPE an NGO in Pakistan is supporting the underprivileged communities throughout the country, right from the onset of Covid19 pandemic in Pakistan. The pandemic is so lethal that it has shaken the strongest economic and healthcare systems of the world.

HOPE – A Health NGO in Pakistan has been doing its level best in providing all necessary treatment to the corona infected patients as well as ordinary patients,so that they can recover from their sickness and live a healthy life again.

With the increasing number of patients being admitted on daily basis at HOPE hospitals.  The hospital management has been meeting the needs of medical equipment’s. Equipment’s such as cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, BiPap machines, PPE Kits, N95 respirators, oxygen cylinders with flow meter, surgical gloves, face shields, goggles etc.

With the help of these medical equipment’s, HOPE hospitals will be at a stronger platform when it comes to serving the masses that belong to the underprivileged sector of the society. They will be provided immediate health treatment without any delay.

A set of SOPs have been developed and are being implemented in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and does not replace any routine clinical practice already in place at HOPE Hospitals. Apart from equipping necessary medical equipment’s the Hospital is disinfected through sprays every few hours and social distancing between the staff and patients is strictly followed.
